HIV is rising across the Pacific, with national outbreaks declared in Fiji and Papua New Guinea. The 2026 Pacific HIV Symposium will convene regional health leaders, clinicians, policymakers and community organisations from across the Pacific, Australia and New Zealand to strengthen prevention, treatment and care and build a coordinated response to the growing HIV epidemic. Without decisive regional action, the Pacific risks reversing decades of progress toward eliminating HIV as a public health threat. The Symposium will also offer the opportunity to discuss work across sexual and reproductive health, coinfections, and other related diseases.
